This can be upgraded to a State license as your sales graph increases

• FSSAI State License:

  The state FSSAI license is applicable to mid-sized companies like small to medium-sized manufacturers, storage units, transporters, retailers, marketers, distributors who have annual turnover between Rs.12-20 crores. This is issued by the State Government, and with this licence, you are allowed to operate in only one state.

• FSSAI Central License:

  This registration is applicable for large businesses like Importers, 100% Export Oriented Units, large manufacturers, operators in the Central Government agencies, airports, seaports, etc., with annual turnover above Rs.20 crores. This is issued by the Central Government.

FSSAI registration is based on your business volume, capacity, turnover, location. The applicant is eligible for licenses such as basic, central, and state licenses. The following steps need to be followed to obtain the FSSAI in Bangalore :

• Submitting the FSSAI application to the Food and Safety Department.
• The application is either accepted or rejected by the concerned Department within seven days from the date of receipt of an application. This rejection needs to be intimated to the applicant in writing format
• If the application is accepted, the Department will grant a registration certificate that has the registration number and the applicant photo.
• FBO should display the registration certificate at the place of business during business hours.

FSSAI license documents for the Central food license are as follows

• Form B duly completed and signed.
• List of Directors/ Partners/ Proprietor along with the address, contact details, and photo ID
• List of food categories to be sold or manufactured
• Partnership deed/ proprietorship registration such as Shop and Establishment or GST or Professional Tax certificates etc.
• Form IX
• Supporting document for proof of turnover and transportation
• Declaration form
• Rental Agreement of Business Premises
• Latest Electricity bill of Business Premises
• Passport size photo or Proprietor / all Partners / all Directors.
• Contact number and Email id of Proprietor / all Partners / all Directors.
