Import Export Code

Importer Exporter Code (IEC) is a ten-digit unique code given by the Director-General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) and Ministry of Commerce, Government of India. In order to import or export in India, IEC is compulsory. Without IEC, no person or entity will be able to make any Import or Export. However, individuals importing or exporting goods for personal use not connected with trade, manufacturing, or agriculture are exempted from obtaining IEC.

Import Export Code (IEC) or Import Export License is the ten-digit code issued by the DGFT office in India. IEC code registration is mandatory for every exporter importer to do the business of import-export legitimately.

• Import-export code takes the services or products to the international market and will enlarge your business. This even helps you to sell products outside India
• IEC is issued for the lifetime of the entity and requires no renewal.
• IEC does not require the filing of any return.
• Even individuals who are proprietors of a business can obtain IE Code in their name.

mport Export Code (IEC) is compulsory for all exporters and importers in India as per the Foreign Trade Policy. All the registration steps have been broadly categorized under three subheads:

• The IEC registration process is online and needs to be signed by a digital signature (DSC).
• After applying for DSC, fill the application and upload the documents without any errors to avoid rejections
• Upload and Follow Up: Once the application is filed properly and submitted, you must follow up if IEC is not issued within the time limit.
